“Daughter,” he whispers gently, “Do you want to be made well?”

"Daughter," he whispers gently, "Do you want to be made well?"

In John 5:6, Jesus asks a man if he wants to be made well after decades of waiting to be healed. Today, friend, he is asking you the same thing. No, he does not do so to mock you. No, he does not do so to rub it in your face that you are still not where you hoped you'd be. He does so to stir your heart... do you feel the yearning in your soul that longs for more? He asks because he wants to see you walk in freedom.

Beloved friend, are you ready to be made well? Let's grab a cup of coffee, still our souls, and sit down at the feet of Jesus. Breathe in. This is a sacred space. Let's begin this journey together, allowing His light to gently fill the hidden places in our hearts.

WELCOME TO MADE WELL

No, this is not a website to tell you to do more (thank goodness—with what time could we?), to try harder. This is not a blog to promise “101 Ways to Feel Whole.” No, ma’am. This here is a space, a community, where we can be free to stop, to breathe, and to say yes to whatever God has in store for us.

Hosea 2:14
Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak tenderly to her.

. Songs .

These are a few that resonate deep within my soul as I continue to journey this path:

Manasseh by Anna Golden (both the intro and the song!)

Homeward by Benjamin Hastings

“I don’t know the timing. I guess it’s not mine to know”

The Fall by Josh Wright

“I wouldn’t really know Your love at all if I didn’t know the fall. You heard me when I called you. You met me in my need. When I was barely holding on, Lord you held onto me.”

Close by We Are The Messengers

“So I won’t hurry through the heartache if it’s what it takes to draw me close”

Amen by Rita Springer

This has been my anthem these last few weeks. My soul has felt heavy, but this song reminds my soul that we have the gift to cry “Amen” anyway!

. Books .

Others’ voices that I have found powerful for my own walk:

The Bible: Yes friend. This is the most important text we could ever read. Let it wash you. Still you. Move you.

Wild at Heart by John Eldredge: What does it look like to see the men around us? What does it look like to stop and hear what they may or may not understand about their God-given design?

Captivating by John and Stasi Eldredge: What about for us as women? What do we long to know about ourselves but can’t quite express? What have we numbed within ourselves so we can get through the day easier? Girl, it is time to walk in the light of who we are: we want to be made well.

New Morning Mercies by Paul David Tripp: This daily devotional has taken me way longer than I care to admit. But I know that grounding myself in these truths in the mornings prepares me in a way that I cannot begin to describe.

Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers: This book opened my eyes to the depths of His love for me. Truly it changed my life to see how Jesus sees us. And it is a love story, how could you go wrong?

“When God is doing a deep work there is a lot you can’t explain. There’s a knowing and yet no plan. There’s an unshakable hope yet endless tears. There’s gratitude whIle learning grit. And you don’t know what comes next but you do know, through whatever He is doing, you’re never going to be the same.”
